Divine Visit to Sri Sathya Sai Sharadaniketanam, Mandya - January 19 to 23, 2021

On January 19, 2021, Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai left for Mandya from Satya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli, at around 09:30 am. The post graduate students from the University were given the opportunity to accompany Swami on this trip. Swami and His entourage reached the Mandya campus, Sri Sathya Sai Sharada Niketanam, by noon.

Sadguru was welcomed by the chairperson and other staff members at the campus. The welcome ceremony was followed by lunch, post which everyone dispersed to rest for the afternoon.

For the next few days, everyone at the campus basked in the divine proximity.  There were satsangs every evening. There were also talks by students and elders. Sadguru blessed everyone present with His divine guidance on various spiritual topics,

Swami urged the tenth-grade students of the Mandya and Hassan campuses to utilise their time well and study hard for the forthcoming examinations. He laughingly reminded them that rather than putting conditions on God as to what questions should appear in the question papers during the examinations, they had to be well prepared for any question that might be asked.

He elaborated on the three gunas and their role in life quoting the example of the three brothers from the Ramayana – Vibhishana, Kumbhakarna and Ravana who embody the sattva, tamas and rajas gunas respectively. Sadguru explained how, although all the three gunas are necessary in life, one must strive to transcend them by overcoming tamas ie laziness, with rajo guna of performing actions and rajas with sattva guna.

Swami advised the post graduate students about their roles in leading the mission forward with spiritual strength or atma balam as the basis.

On the morning of January 21, 2021, Sadguru, along with the students, visited the Sri Venugopala Swamy temple built in the 13th century by the Hoysalas. This magnificent temple is an architectural marvel and is located near the backwaters of the Kaveri river. A special puja was offered to the deity. Sadguru then blessed the temple staff and workers after which He returned to Mandya in time for lunch. In the evening, He visited the upcoming hostel building which is under construction. The workers and other staff members at the site were blessed with His divine guidance.

On the evening of January 22, 2021, Swami blessed and inaugurated the newly furnished library at the campus. The library project is an initiative by the senior alumni and this model will be replicated in other campuses too.

Later that evening, there was a special puja and rudrabhishekam was offered at the Shiva temple. There was also a beautiful dance presentation by Brother Gaurav.

The next morning, January 23, 2021, Sadguru blessed all the students and staff at the campus before He took leave of them. Swami returned to Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli by noon.
