Towards Excellence in Modern Healthcare

Certainly the work, “TOWARDS EXCELLENCE IN HEALTHCARE- a Human Values Based Guide with Practical Guidelines”, represents the wisdom of a very experienced & committed doctor practitioner, from the Heart, Head & Hands. It is most appropriate that the 2nd updated, revamped e-edition has become a “Recommended Read” for the Compassionate Healthcare Course of the Institute of Human Values(www.iohv.org). I have gone through that as well.

The book candidly discusses the global decline of healthcare from a noble service to a profiteering industry. It traces the causes and prescribes practical solutions for the malady.
Budding Doctors and healthcare professionals who are interested in getting a clear scientific understanding of the connect between the spiritual, human values, healing and healthcare, will find this book to be a true value add.

For doctors in the making, it will be an eye opener as it covers what is essential knowledge but is not taught in medical college. Quantum concepts that bridge the science-spirituality divide are most lucidly explained. For all Practitioners, “TOWARDS EXCELLENCE IN MODERN HEALTHCARE “, will help them raise the bar, in their own practice.
I would go as far as to say that it is indeed a must read for ALL MEDICAL PRACTIONERS IN THE WORLD, for it will help them understand in the most scientific manner, the importance of a heart to heart connect with patients as well as HOW to successfully make that connect.

From an academic perspective, the fact that the book has over 600 documented references and deals with the subject so thoroughly and in depth makes it a commendable effort; a great reference book. On the practical side, it shows a practical way out of the mechanical, technocentric, commercial process that medicine has degenerated into. If the ‘Care Teams’ that deliver healthcare, adopt the simple techniques detailed by the author, more smiles and satisfaction is guaranteed for the teams; while patients can look forward to better healing and cheer.

Healing has from ancient times, been considered a divine act. Indeed all the Great Masters were true Healers of body, mind and soul. It is wonderful that the book introduces the reader to these Master Healers from various cultures both historical and contemporary. This is another unique plus of the book- something I have not come across in other books on modern healthcare / healing.

This book could not have been more timely. It is global in perspective and in these pandemic times, is most relevant. The author’s engaging writing style makes for easy reading. I heartily recommend this gem of a book to all.
