Creative Content Writing
As a creative content writing volunteer, you will play a major role in spreading awareness with a creative and effective writing style. You should be able to empathise completely with your audience and be aware of how your writing will impact their lives. It is crucial to clearly outline the organisation’s ideology and activities by creating unique, fact-filled, quality and engaging content for the required niche, with thorough research.
Level of commitment required
Suitable for those who are able to commit at least a few hours a week.
Qualifications required
No formal qualifications.
Proficient in the English language.
Responsibilities and duties
Content Writing
- Writing creative content for web pages, blogs, print media, social media, newsletters, press releases, ongoing service activities and updates for the readers, while adhering to tight deadlines.
- Curating and developing well-researched, engaging and audience-oriented, captivating content on various visits and ongoing service activities, from various articles for both offline and online publishing purposes.
- Ability to write SEO-based content to help achieve organic rankings is a plus.
Script Writing
- Writing engaging and captivating scripts for various videos including: voiceover-based, visuals-only, teasers etc.
- Ability to effectively interview people to generate a captivating story.
Essential Skills
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Good proof-reading and editing skills.
- Creativity, good vocabulary, grammar and syntax, an eye for details, typos and inconsistencies in formatting, etc.
- Ability to make content accessible in simple English.
- An understanding of what engages different audiences such as: youth, devotees, social media users, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Ability to work in a team, develop a good rapport and good social/communication skills.

Earlier this year, I made a bold choice of volunteering as a creative writer. I was skeptical as I had a limited perception of a writer’s duty. I thought I couldn’t give much. Joining this team helped me realize my potential, expanded my knowledge in various subjects and most importantly, I experienced the fulfillment of working in a team, who in time, grew to be my family. Being blessed with the opportunity to work on scripts for animated videos and short write ups on specific topics (i.e songs, composers, goddesses), I definitely look forward to working on more projects.
